Our mission boils down to this: Techsdale wants to get youth in Rexdale doing awesome stuff with code. There are myriad reasons why: Firstly, it’s a good career decision. Secondly, coding knowledge will soon be taken for granted. And finally, it’s good for you.
Gaming culture (and if we’re being honest, tech culture as a whole) has been dogged by its diversity problem for quite a while. As time goes on though, the conversation becomes less about the need for tolerance than eliminating the social and financial harm inflicted by refusal to diversify. By leaving behind young people of colour we not only diminish their opportunities, but opportunities for tech industry growth as well.
